Biography
Ronald Kleijer was born on the 24th of February in 1973 in a little village called Nootdorp not far from The Hague, The Netherlands. He attended the Royal Art Academy in The Hague from 1993 till 1997 and studied at the drawing and painting faculty. During his studies he made his first trip to Central Asia in 1994. He visited Uzbekistan and spent two months traveling, getting to know the area and painting. This trip had such a great impact on him that during the rest of his studies he was influenced by his Uzbek memories. After graduation he decided to continue his work in Uzbekistan.
Ordinary people and everything related to their daily life – this is what has been and will always be the main source of inspiration for his creativity.
Ancient cities and villages of Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, Karakalpakstan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as Western China, Azerbaijan and Ukraine are the routes of the artist's travels. A special place in his work is occupied by Muynak and the Aral Sea.
Over many years of creative activity, Ronald has developed his own recognizable style in art.
Ronald’s picturesque paintings are laconic and compact. The detailed images convey the ideas and thoughts of the master with extraordinary accuracy.
